Certification Verification

What is it?

Many public and private entities require a person claiming AIDS Certified Registered Nurses (ACRN) or Advanced AIDS Certified Registered Nurses (AACRN) status to have their claim verified by the HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification Board.

What is verified?

The HANCB will verify current credential standing; current expiration date, original certification date, last recertification date, and certificate number are the items that are generally provided.

Are specific forms required?

Most agencies requesting certification verification send a specific form to the HANCB for completion because most agencies are specific about what information they want verified and how the form is to be signed, dated and returned. We also require a copy of a signed release from the nurse that is being verified. If you do not have a release form, please click here.

Is there a charge for verification?

If you are individual requesting certification verification for yourself, the cost is $25.00. For any institution or organization, the cost is $50.00 per nurse to be verified. If you are interested in obtaining our entire list, please contact the national office.

Payment is due to the HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification Board and can be made either by check, money order or credit card. Please have the payment form with the verification request.

Where is the verification request sent?

Verification requests and payments can be sent by fax to 330-670-0109, Attention: Debbie or mailed to HANCB, 3538 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333.
