Paul Robinson is a Regional Medical Scientist for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Division of HIV & Virology. He became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1993 and began caring for HIV patients at Emory/Crawford W. Long Hospital. In 1995 he moved into home health care as an HIV Infusion Specialist focusing on opportunistic infection treatment and palliative care. In 2000, Mr. Robinson received his Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Emory University in Atlanta Georgia and became accredited as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health (CNS-PMH). He worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) at the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta (ARCA) and then moved into private practice as an FNP assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with HIV/AIDS. His interests include pathogenesis of HIV and metabolic abnormalities associated with HIV medication and HIV disease process. He is certified as an Advanced AIDS Certified Registered Nurse (AACRN) by the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) and as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). He has extensive experience in educating patients and health care providers in the areas of HIV pathogenesis, treatment options and metabolic disorders. He is currently a Regional Medical Scientist, HIV & Virology, for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
