Christine A. Balt, MS, RN, APRN, BC, AACRN, FNAP

Christine is employed by Indiana University School of Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases as a Family Nurse Practitioner providing specialty and primary care to persons with HIV disease at the Wishard Health Services Infectious Disease Clinic. She is also the Clinical Manager for the Infectious Disease Clinic, which consists of a multidisciplinary team of professionals serving HIV-infected persons at the county hospital for Indianapolis, Indiana. Christine has worked in HIV since 1986 as a staff nurse and has been in her current position for over 9 years. Christine has authored articles and book chapters on various issues surrounding HIV infection. She has presented on a wide range of HIV-related issues to a variety of audiences across the United States. Christine has an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Social Work from Indiana University Indianapolis Indiana; and a Master of Science in primary care nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, IN. She is currently a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana with an expected graduation date of 2010. Christine is a past national President of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care.
