Barbara Blake
Dr. Barbara Blake received her Bacelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Southern College located in Lakeland, Florida; her Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Florida located in Tampa, Florida; and her Doctor of Philosopy in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University located in Denton, Texas. Dr. Blake is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Kennesaw State University. Her area of nursing practice has been primarily in community health settings. She is the former Project Director for the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education & Training Center, Dallas, TX. For the past five years Dr. Blake has been heavily involved in HIV projects for the State of Georiga. She served as the project director/co-director for the 2004 – 2006 and 2007 HIV Comprehensive Community Services Assessments and the 2005 – 2006 and 2008 HIV Comprehensive Plans. In addtion, Dr. Blake has co-authored several HIV related publications and is currently focusing her research on HIV and aging. It is only through the support of her husband, Paul, that she is been able to focus on her nursing career and research in HIV/AIDS.
