Judy A. Wessell, APRN, BC, ACRN, AACRN, dual certified as a Family and Adult Nurse Practitioner
Director at LargeJudy Wessell was a diploma graduate nurse who went back to school for the BSN and MSN. She completed the MSN Nurse Practitioner program at Old Dominion University in 1997. She accepted a position at Eastern Virginia Medical School as its first NP in the ID/HIV department. Her current position is as an NP supervisor and she provides HIV education. Judy follows about 300 HIV+ patients for both HIV and Primary care. Approximately 20% of her time is dedicated to HIV education through the AIDS Regional Resource Center, providing HIV education for professionals and community. Judy is a member of the Quality Improvement team and also participate in various research roles. As a member of ANAC, Judy is active in her local ANAC chapter and served as the President of the First Virginia chapter. Judy has served for two years on the board of HANCB. She is certified as ACRN and AACRN, and also as an HIV specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She is currently on the speakers panel for various pharmaceutical programs.
She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband of 36 years, George.
